Yes, and in tropical storm-prone locations like Florida, it might be a good idea to install waterproof flooring in that room.

Like anything, there will always be some needed precautions. Sometimes referred to as “solariums” or “enclosed porches,” these rooms are meant to provide generous amounts of daylight and landscape. They're wonderful rooms to read, meditate or just relax, but the sun's UV Rays can fade upholstery, fabrics, and flooring. Many products have a special coat to minimize this problem but, to be safe, use the appropriate window coverings.

What is waterproof flooring?

This is another, more advanced version of luxury vinyl (LVF).  While LVF is waterproof, this version gives an even higher level of protection from water and moisture.  Rather than the typical core of vinyl composites, this one comes with either a WPC (wood plastic composite) of SPC (stone plastic composite) core that won’t ripple or peel, no matter how much water it’s exposed to.

By the way, LVF was the more advanced version of standard vinyl sheets which was first introduced decades ago.  While it was durable and highly water-resistant, it was not completely impervious to liquid.

You get everything as you would LVF.  This is an amazingly realistic simulation of wood, stone, or tile. Digital imaging makes grains, knots, swirls, veinings, and vibrant colors pop. It is available in a wide assortment of species, colors, patterns, and designs. Textures are trending for 2020, and the embossing features give the floor depth, dimension, and a wire-brushed, hand scraped, weather, or distressed appearance. You can even get the glamorous high-gloss wood floors that you see in the design magazines. Ask your retailer to tell and show you samples of waterproof flooring.

Other benefits include:

Durability and like all vinyl, it is layered. The top clear plastic wear layer is thick and protects the floor from scratches and scuffs and gives even more waterproof protection. It is easy to care for, with just a daily sweeping and periodic damp mop with water and a manufacturer-approved cleaner.  Installation is simple and DIY-friendly, with the pieces just clicking together.
